An Anderson man is hospitalized after stabbing a juvenile and getting hit in the head by one of the victims with a bat.

It happened around 9:30 last night at the home of 30-year-old Alex Cortez.

When police arrived, they found Cortez inside with a head wound and cuts to his head and body.

Police say two kids in the home were also involved in the attack.

Witnesses say Cortez was intoxicated and began threatening the juveniles with a knife and hammer.

Police say that's when Cortez stabbed one of them in the leg and head.

So in self defense, they fought back and struck Cortez in the head with a baseball bat.

Cortez and one of the juveniles were taken to the hospital.
