A Paradise man has been arrested for suspicion of DUI after he struck and injured an Auburn man standing by a parked vehicle on the side Highway 99 early this morning.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on HWY 99 just north of the Skyway in Chico. When California Highway Patrol Officers arrived on the scene, they found 27-year-old Dallas Joshua James laying on the ground with two broken legs.

Officers also made contact with the driver of 1997 Honda, who was uninjured. CHP determined the driver, Anthony David Morlaes, 50, Paradise, was under the influence of alcohol and he was placed under arrest for felony DUI.
