The man who was struck and killed by a train just after midnight Tuesday morning in Redding has been identified as 35-year-old Clodie Kenneth Hamilton, according to the Shasta County Coroner's Office.
The coroner's office is still working on finding out where Hamilton was from.
Redding Police officers responded to the railroad tracks just north of Riverside Drive after receiving a call from Union Pacific saying one of their northbound trains had possibly hit a person on the tracks. Officers eventually located Hamilton's body on the trestle.
It remains unclear at this time exactly why Hamilton was on the tracks.
