Authorities have confirmed a man died this afternoon after he was struck by a Union Pacific train in Biggs.
Law Enforcement received the call at 2:23 p.m. Monday and called for the Coroner's Office as soon as they arrived on the scene.
The incident happened on the tracks near Hastings Avenue and 6th Street.
A California Highway Patrol Official on the scene said the Union Pacific Conductor told Law Enforcement that the victim purposely walked out in front of the train as it was approaching and the whole incident was captured on video.
The train will be shut down for a few hours and the Butte County Sheriff's Office will conduct a full investigation.
