Man fatally hit by armored vehicle during reunion party

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities said a man died after being run over by an armored vehicle during a reunion party in Northern California.

California Highway Patrol officials said the 55-year-old man was riding the military-style tanker on a rural property in Fairfield Saturday. He fell out of the vehicle as it hit a bump and was run over.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Daily Republic reports the driver of the armored vehicle was not arrested.

The CHP and the state's Division of Occupational Safety and Health were investigating the accident.
