HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 46-year-old surfer has apparently drowned in the surf off Huntington Beach.
The Orange County Register reports lifeguards responded Thursday morning and found an unconscious man in the sand who was wearing a wet suit.
Beachgoers had pulled the unresponsive man from the water and had begun CPR.
The coroner's office says Wesley Goldenhar, a resident of Huntington Beach, died at a hospital.
An autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause of death.
