A standoff ended peacefully Sunday after a man barricaded himself in the crawlspace of a house in Hamilton City.

David Dixon, 34, was arrested around 11 a.m. at a home on the 300 block of Capay Avenue. Glenn County Sheriffs responded to a call reporting the suspect was in the backyard of the home. The reporting party stated the suspect was burning the resident’s clothes in a fire pit.

When officers arrived, the suspect fled to the crawl space and barricaded himself. Police used OC spray and a fire extinguisher to unsuccessfully flush out the suspect. Orland K9 units were deployed and apprehended the suspect.

Dixon was treated for dog bites on scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment. Officers said the suspect will be transported to Glenn County Jail facing charges of arson and parole violations unrelated to the incident.
