After being pulled over for not wearing his seatbelt, 25-year-old Emanuel Cervantes, of Corning, refused to cooperate with officers and kicked out a patrol car window.

The Corning Police Department pulled over Cervantes’ pickup truck shortly before 2:00 p.m. Wednesday

for a seatbelt violation. Cervantes told officers he was not going to comply with the traffic stop. He physically resisted officers and was placed under arrest for resisting an officer.

After the arrest officers conducted a search and found Cervantes to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Cervantes was then notified of the additional drug charge and officers began a search of his vehicle.

While officers were searching the pickup truck, Cervantes kicked out the rear window of the patrol car. Cervantes was then shackled with leg restraints and moved to another patrol car.

On the way to the Tehama County Jail Cervantes began to spit on the officer driving and a spit hood device was placed on his head.

Cervantes was booked into Tehama County Jail.
