A Chico man convicted of stabbing an off-duty bouncer outside Riley's Bar last September has been sentenced to nearly two decades in prison.
Michael Puthuff, 39, was found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon in April and then sentenced to 18 years in prison Thursday.
Prior to the stabbing Puthuff was reportedly acting in a disruptive manner, and the victim was assisting the doorman in removing him from the bar.
The victim survived the attack.
Puthuff has five prior felony convictions and was on parole at the time of the stabbing.
