LAS VEGAS (AP) - A fugitive in the shooting death of a 34-year-old man in a downtown Las Vegas alley was arrested in Siskiyou County Tuesday afternoon.

A sheriff's spokeswoman in California's Siskiyou County said Thursday that FBI and sheriff's deputies, aided by a California Highway Patrol helicopter, arrested 33-year-old Andrew Anthony Gorman in the town of Happy Camp.

Gorman was being held at the county jail in Yreka, California, pending transfer in custody to Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police Officer Miguel Garcia says Gorman was identified as the man seen fleeing after the shooting a little before 8 p.m. Dec. 11 near 13th Street and Ogden Avenue. A motive hasn't been made public.

The slain man was identified as Manuel Niceforo Cardenas of Las Vegas.
