RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police have arrested a suspect in the November killing of a taxi-cab driver just south of downtown.
Police say 27-year-old John Orris was being held in the Washoe County Jail without bail Monday after he was booked on suspicion of open murder in the Nov. 9 shooting of 55-year-old Sami Amin.
Amin was found lying next to his Whittlesea cab on Wheeler Avenue just east of midtown.
Officer Tim Broadway says homicide detectives developed leads that allegedly tied Orris to a Reno burglary last year. He was arrested in California in December and extradited to Reno, where Broadway says he provided information during his interrogation that also tied him to the homicide.
He's also been charged with burglary and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
