A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run after fleeing from a crash in the Shasta Lake Tuesday afternoon.
The crash was reported a little before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Shasta Dam Boulevard and Cascade Boulevard, according to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office.
Jason Harper allegedly ran a red light on Cascade Boulevard and collided with Jacob Hutson, who was traveling eastbound on Shasta Dam Boulevard. Hutson suffered moderate injuries from the collision.
After the crash Harper attempted to flee to his residence nearby. Shasta Lake deputies were able to take him into custody and he was booked into the Shasta County Jail for felony driving under the influence and felony hit-and-run. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license.
