A Redding man tried to steal from several homes shortly after being released from jail for another burglary.
Police arrested Joshua White last night after a woman found him in her Olive Avenue home with a pillowcase filled with stolen property.
White was released from jail early this morning on his own recognizance.
Less than an hour after White’s release, police say they received a report of someone trying to kick down the door of a home on Placer Street.
The victim was at home with his wife and two children at the time, and when he tried to confront the suspect he took off. While on scene, officers heard someone yelling on the same block that someone was trying to break into their home. Officers located the suspect in some area bushes and identified him as White.
Police say White violently resisted arrest and had to be taken to the hospital before being booked into the Shasta County Jail.
