Citrus Heights Police arrested a man Wednesday who allegedly abducted his own son in April and managed to elude authorities.
The suspect Aaron Sullivan, 36, of Antelope, failed to return the 11-year-old child to the mother following a court ordered visit in April. Sullivan allegedly told the child's mother that she would never see her child again.
Marysville, Sacramento County Sheriff's, Sacramento Police Department, and Citrus Heights Police Department detectives learned during their investigation that Sullivan was moving from city to city on a nightly basis and dying his hair to avoid detection.
Marysville Police say there were several instances in which investigator narrowly missed locating Sullivan.
On Wednesday a patrol officer for the Citrus Heights Police Department stopped a suspicious vehicle and the driver was determined to be Sullivan.
The 11-year-old child was in the vehicle with Sullivan and Marysville detectives returned the child to boy's mother later in the day.
Sullivan was booked into the Yuba County Jail on a felony arrest warrant.
