Man arrested, charged for allegedly killing a dog in 2013

An Oroville man was charged yesterday for allegedly cutting the throat of a dog in April of 2013.

An arrest warrant was issued April, 5, 2013 for Juan Manual Pena, 37, after Glenn County Sheriff’s animal control officers were sent to 143 N. Yolo, Willows regarding a dead dog. Officers found a young dog in a duffle bag with its throat deliberately cut.

Pena was arrested yesterday in Oroville. Investigators say the dog was not his. He was charged with animal cruelty and using a dangerous weapon and booked into Butte County Jail.
