Man Arrested After Car Chase; Patrol Car Damaged

A 20-year-old man is behind bars after he lead officers on a car chase reaching speeds up to 70 miles per hour. It started around 11:30 Sunday afternoon in Cottonwood when Shasta County Sheriff's Office attempted to pull over a truck for a moving violation. When the car failed to stop a pursuit began, leading officers to the city of Anderson. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Jordan Ericsson, fled on foot when he stopped at the intersection of Bruce Street and Pinion Street. After he got out of the car, it rolled back and hit a deputies patrol car. It suffered minor damage.

Ericsson was located and arrested. The car was found to be an un-reported stolen car from the Cottonwood area.

Anderson police officers helped the Sheriff's office with the arrest, along with the CHP helicopter.
