A Weaverville man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly started a fire outside a Trinity County post office, and then tried to fight responding deputies.
According to the Trinity County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a trash can fire and reports of a suspicious subject at the Junction City Post Office around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, and found 43-year-old Timothy Jason Moore barricaded in the building.
Moore began yelling at deputies and blocked their entry into the post office, and when they did gain access he became combative.
Deputies were eventually able to subdue Moore and he was taken into custody then booked into the Trinity County Jail on suspicion of arson and resisting arrest.
