Police are forced to lock down an Anderson neighborhood after a man armed with a rifle causes a standoff situation. It all started just after 6 p.m. last night on Webster Drive near 2nd Street. A family member of the suspect reported that 34 year-old Kao Nai Saelee was running around the house looking for a weapon. They also told police he may be under the influence of a controlled substance or having mental health issues. Authorities blocked off the roadways, and after several attempts to try and reach Saelee by phone, he eventually exited the home holding a rifle and a large knife. When officers asked Saelee to drop his weapons he complied and was taken into custody without incident. Saelee was booked into the Shasta County Jail on several warrants and there may be additional charges filed.
