54-year-old Emilio Ulep Pasalo was injured after being struck in the neck with a flashlight by his ex-girlfriend.
The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office was first contacted Sunday evening regarding a man having breathing troubles after he was assaulted. Shortly after another call came to dispatch saying the man would be taken by private vehicle to receive medical attention. A third call then came in saying Pasalo was going in and out of consciousness and he needed medical assistance at the Market in Elk Creek.
Pasallo was transported to Glenn Medical Center in Willows and then airlifted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
Sheriff’s Deputies contacted Tabitha Pasalo, the victim’s daughter. She stated her father had come home in distress alleging that his former girlfriend, Sacha Shea Cooper had hit him in the throat with a flash light. She also told investigators that her father was recovering from neck surgery.
With the help of the victim’s daughter, deputies were able to locate a witness who stated she saw Cooper swinging a flash light at the victim in the street.
Cooper was located and taken into custody without incident. She was taken to Glenn County Jail in Willows and booked on an outstanding felony warrant, as well as assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Her bail was set at $45,000.
The case is still under investigation.
