The man accused of beating and tying up a woman and then threatening her family while searching for his ex-girlfriend was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at Feather Falls Casino.
Butte County Sheriff's Officials say 38-year-old Michael Carter was taken into custody around 5 p.m. at Feather Falls Casino after a security guard spotted his 2000 Lincoln Navigator in the casino parking lot.
Carter allegedly showed up at the home of his ex-girlfriend's sister early Wednesday morning demanding to know where his ex was. When the woman said she did not know Carter beat her, tied her hands in rope and dragged her to another home.
At the second home Carter beat two women and attacked a man with a stick, then attempted to force the woman he had tied up into his car, but was stopped when a relative confronted him with a firearm.
Carter was wanted for kidnapping, criminal threats, false imprisonment and felony battery, at this time it is unknown what charges he will face.
