OSLO, Norway (AP) - A Pakistani girl who at 15 years old was shot in the head by the Taliban for promoting education for girls, will share this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

Malala Yousafzai (mah-LAH'-lah YOO'-suhf-zeye), who's now 17, has jointly won the Peace Prize with Kailash Satyarthi (KY'-lash saht-YAHR'-thee) of India, who's been at the forefront of a global movement to end child slavery and exploitative child labor.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee cited the two "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education."
