Traffic on the northbound side of the Interstate 5 is at a stand still after a big rig collided with sedan near Twin View Boulevard in Redding.
California Highway Patrol reported that a big rig truck slammed into the back of a small sedan around 2:20 p.m. The big rig also struck another vehicle.
First responders are on scene treating what they are describing as "major injuries." They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Cal Trans is currently cleaning up the debris, there is no indication of when the interstate will be fully opened.
