Magnitude 3.0 earthquake reported near Chico

A magnitude-3.0 earthquake struck north of Chico near the Tehama-Butte County line around 8 a.m., marking the second North State earthquake reported Tuesday morning.

The quake was reported 12 miles north of Chico, near Vina.

The small earthquake is the second tremblor reported by the United States Geological Survey Tuesday morning. A mangnitude-4.3 quake struck 29 miles southwest of Eureka at 3:17 a.m.

No damage has been reported from either quake.
