The Butte County Public Health Department & North Valley Veterinary Medical Association are teaming up to help protect against rabies.
It is estimated that around 30,000 to 40,000 U.S. residents are potentially exposed to rabies every year. When left untreated, rabies can be fatal. But it is 100% preventable. Thursday, the two are holding a low cost vaccination clinic to beat those odds. It is being held from 5:30pm till 7pm Thursday at the Public Health Department in Chico at 695 Oleander Avenue.
They will have everything from rabies vaccinations to other vaccines and microchips. Rabies vaccines are available for $6 in cash, while other vaccines are available for $12 and microchips are $15.
Chico Animal Control will also be there to provide licensing for dogs within city limits.
