The Sound of Music was alive in Chico this weekend.
The North State Symphony kicked off its season with a Sunday performance at Chico’s Laxon Auditorium.
The orchestra played works by various international composers and began the concert with the Star-Spangled Banner.
This symphony includes some of the best musicians from the North State as well as Sacramento, the Bay Area and Southern Oregon.
“Our orchestra players are all stars in their own ways,” said North State Symphony manager Keith Herritt. “Many of them are professionals, some teach music and others have others professions or are students.”
