Local Man Arrested For The Robbery of Two Chico Liquor Stores

The Chico Police Department has arrested a man who robbed two liquor stores over the last two days.

Luke Geyer, 28 years old was arrested for the alleged robberies, the first was reported on Monday at the East Avenue Liquors and the second happened on Tuesday at Fair Street Market.

Both robberies took place around 3:00 p.m.

The man who called Chico police talked to Action News Now over the phone and stated he observed a man riding a yellow bike with a yellow backpack and a black SF Giants hat riding east past the 7/11 on East Avenue around 2 p.m. this afternoon. The witness stayed on the phone with dispatch as he followed the suspect down East Avenue until the suspect pulled into the parking lot of the Likker Locker. According to the witness, the suspect soon left the parking lot of the liquor store and headed north on Cohasset Avenue until Chico Police eventually arrested the man near an open field south of the intersection of Cohasset and Lupin Avenues.

Geyer had a pistol BB gun on him during the time of the arrest, Sgt. Franssen said.

Investigators say Geyer stole several hundred dollars in each incident and will be charged with two counts of armed robbery.
