Rigoberto Sanchez hasn't played a full season of football since his second year of junior college in 2013, but after spending one year focusing on his studies and perfecting his craft, Sanchez will be heading to University of Hawaii on a full-ride scholarship this fall as a kicker.

"It's definitely a dream come true, everybody who plays football wishes to go Division-One," said Sanchez.

Sanchez will head to the islands in August where he plans on preparing for place kicking and field goal duties.

"I'm really excited about Hawaii and to be a Warrior, and I have to give it my all so the coaches will not feel bad about choosing me," said Sanchez.

The Hamilton High and Butte College graduate will go from playing in front of hundreds to a stadium that holds 50,000.

"I want to prove to everybody that I can do this under pressure and it shouldn't be a thing when everybody's watching," said Sanchez.

Three years ago, Sanchez converted a 57-yard field goal at Hamilton High. He also nailed a 54-yarder at Butte College.
