Two local businesses are teaming up to help North State children with autism.
Cleanrite-Buildrite and Farmers Insurance raised $17,000 in a golf tournament. They donated the money to the Chico State Autism Clinic Monday.
The clinic focuses on older kids on the autism spectrum, and the local Farmers Insurance District Manager’s son Collin has autism so the cause hits close to home. “When we had our partners at Cleanrite-Buildrite come to us, it was an easy charity to pick” Jerry Vestesen said.
The money covers most expenses for the autism clinic, and their summer camp which helps youngsters develop social skills and transition into their teenage and adult years.
