The Glenn County Sheriff's Office reports that two pit bulls killed two llamas in their pen at a home on County Road M 1/2 in the Orland area.

Sheriff's officials say 80 year old Norma Gaston called Saturday to report two pit bulls loose in her yard with her llamas, and that one of the llamas was dead.

Officers responded to the property and found the two dogs lying in a pen next to a dead llama. A short while later with help from another officer the dogs were captured. A second dead llama was also located.

The owner of the dogs, Shannon Marshall-Rupert, was cited for dogs running at large, dogs threatening the safety of a person or animal, trespassing on land with livestock, and destroying property valued at a total of $400.00.

We contacted the Glenn County Sheriff's office about what happens to the pitbulls now, but no one in the office had that information. We will update this story when we get a call back.
