It was another hot day around the North State, with Valley highs close to 100 on Monday. It was a little hotter in the far north end of the Valley, thanks to a little bit of a delta breeze working on the southern half of the Valley. With high pressure in place and showing no signs of significant change anytime soon, we can expect more of the same all week.
A few mountain thunderstorms popped up this afternoon. These will dissipate after sunset tonight, but with the moisture in place, it looks like they'll reform Tuesday afternoon in the high country... and should continue firing up in the afternoon hours in the mountains all week!
This weekend should see a decrease in mountain thunderstorm activity... but not in the heat. We'll continue with the hot weather as we start August.
