The Lindo Channel Bridge connecting the north and south sections of The Esplanade is getting a bit of a structural refreshment after an unreinforced concrete wing wall collapsed, Chico City Planners announced Tuesday.
The work will take place from Tuesday until April 1, when crews anticipate finishing the project. Planners said construction crews will work weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Delays are expected in the area during these hours.
Crews are working to clear debris, construct a new concrete wall section and do some minor grading.
City planners said Esplanade’s northbound right lane and pedestrian walk way will be closed during construction, however the northbound inside lane will be open for traffic easement.
The Airport Bike Path will also remain open for bicyclists and pedestrians during the work.
