Tuesday afternoon's thunderstorms have sparked a series of fires in the Klamath National Forest and the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
According to the United States Forest Service, six small fires are burning in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest on the South Fork Management Unit and Trinity River Management Unit. The largest of these fires is roughly two acres.
Additionally, the USFS has reported six fires on Klamath National Forest land. As of 2:50 p.m., the fires were all under one acre, but active weather is keeping fire crews on high alert.
Forest Service fire managers are continuing to monitor the weather and resources are in place if any additional incidents arise.
