LOS ANGELES (AP) - Flights arriving into Los Angeles International Airport are being diverted from their normal landing route and over a more congested residential area to clear a military airspace.
The airport said in a statement that the military airspace west of LAX will be active until November 12th. No details on the military operation were provided.
Flights usually take an over-ocean route to the runway from midnight until 6:30 a.m. to minimize noise.
LAX officials warned residents living directly east of the airport may experience more noise as flights arrive and depart over their communities instead of by sea.
