Lassen County voters will get to decide if the county will support the State of Jefferson movement in 2016.
The Lassen County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 last week to place support for the State of Jefferson on the ballot in June of 2016.
State of Jefferson proponents aim to make California's northern region America's 51st state, saying a new state would facilitate better representation of California's rural counties.
Seven counties, including Tehama, Glenn and Yuba, have already publicly declared their support for the State of Jefferson.
