A suspect wanted in connection with a Las Vegas murder last month was arrested Monday in Tehama County.

Sheriff's deputies pulled over a red Ford F-150 around 1:00 p.m. Monday for expired tags and found one of the passengers in the vehicle was Alex Vongsouphanh who had an outstanding murder warrant.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, Vongsouphanh is suspected of knocking out 25-year-old UNLV senior and real estate agent William Yar Parke after a party in Las Vegas on December 28. Following the punch Parke slipped into a coma and died a day later.

Vongsouphanh, who was reportedly in the area visiting family, has been booked into the Tehama County Jail and will be extradited to Las Vegas, Tehama County officials said Monday.
