A Las Plumas High School teacher has been arrested, accused of having a sexual relationship with two students.

Butte County sheriff’s deputies arrested Las Plumas physical education teacher Lindsay Himmelspach at the school on Friday.

The 33-year-old is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with at least two underage boys. One of whom was a student at Las Plumas, the other a student at Prospect High School.

The sexual relationships were "brief in nature" and included the sharing of nude photos between Himmelspach and the two students, according to the sheriff's office. The events took place over the 2015 summer break.

The alleged relationships came to light when an anonymous caller left a message at Las Plumas High School, prompting school officials to contact the sheriff’s office.

Himmelspach has been booked into the Butte County Jail on two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, two counts of communicating with a minor to commit lewd or lascivious acts, and two counts of communicating with a minor for purposes of committing sexual acts.

Himmelspach has taught in the Oroville Union High School District for about 10 years, according to officials. She has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Butte County Sheriff’s Office at 530-538-7671.
