Large butane honey oil lab found in Magalia

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit responded to the 1300 block of Nimshew Road, Magalia yesterday for a reported Butane Honey Oil Lab. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence which was unoccupied at the time.

With the service of the search warrant, Detectives located a large scale commercial Butane Honey Oil Lab. The lab consisted of 25 glass collection dishes, 52 extraction tubes used to manufacture butane honey oil, 1152 empty 300ml Butane cans, 672 full 300ml Butane cans, and two wooden extraction workstations. The workstations were homemade mechanisms capable of extracting honey oil from six (6) extraction tubes at the same time. The Butane Honey Oil would then be collected in a single glass collection dish which was placed under the extraction tubes.

The search of the residence revealed 4.53 pounds of finished Butane Honey Oil, 185.73 pounds of marijuana, 8 ounces (1/2 pound) of psilocybin mushrooms, and two (2) firearms.

This case is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
