Today Congressman Doug LaMalfa stopped by our studios to give us his take on some hot button issues, both local and national.

For example, when it comes to the threat of ISIS, he says airstrikes are a start, but the ultimate question is who will be the force to eradicate them completely.

On the topic of immigration, LaMalfa believes we need to enforce the laws we already have and protect our borders, and says executive orders by president Obama would not help reform.

When California voters passed Prop 47 last week, LaMalfa believes voters were fooled, and says petty crime will increase as a result.

On the topic of pot, LaMalfa says just because states are legalizing marijuana for recreational use, it doesn't make it right.

When it comes to Obamacare, LaMalfa says it was flawed from the start and can't be worked with.

But LaMalfa says his number one priority is making sure water storage in California becomes a reality.

He says if Congress can't authorize it this lame duck session, it will be the first thing he puts across the desk in January.

"The Sites Reservoir water wouldn't necessarily stay here, but it means more of our Shasta Dam water, our Lake Oroville water and other smaller reservoir waters have a better chance to stay here and not be tapped elsewhere," LaMalfa said.

LaMalfa says the proposed Sites Reservoir would be located in rural Colusa County and hold up to 1.9 million acre-feet of water.
