The Lake Oroville State Recreation Area announced Monday that the last paved boat launch ramp at Bidwell Marina will be closing August 20 because of low water levels.

To continue offering services to boaters, the Department of Water Resources (DWR) will be opening their Spillway Low Water Gravel Boat Ramp accessed from Spillway upper parking lot.

It is strongly recommended that boaters using the gravel launch ramp do so in a four-wheel drive vehicle.

The launching of non-motorized watercraft is still available at at the Diversion Pool, below the dam, and the North Forebay west of Highway 70.

Kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, and rowing will remain available at the Forebay Aquatic Center and boat rentals continue to be offered by Bidwell Canyon and Lake Oroville Marina at Lime Saddle.
