A lawsuit filed against Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. by competitor Lagunitas Brewing Co. has been dropped.
Lagunitas filed the lawsuit on Monday alleging that Sierra Nevada's new Hop Hunter India Pale Ale logo, which features "IPA" in the background, is ripping off their Lagunitas IPA label.
In the lawsuit, Lagunitas claims the label will either harm their brand, or come across as a collaboration.
When the suit was announced consumers took to social media to voice their displeasure with the decision to sue and on Tuesday night Lagunitas owner Tony Magee said he would be dropping the lawsuit.
Magee announced the decision on twitter saying "Today was in the hands of the ultimate court; The Court of Public Opinion and in it I got an answer to my question; Our IPA's TM has limits."
