Like the pageant theater in Chico, public radio station KZFR needs a new piece of equipment to stay on air.
They’re starting a fundraising campaign and would like to raise $25,000 dollars for a new transmitter.
KZFR has been on air since 1990, and got the transmitter in 1996.
It’s located on a 2,200 foot ridge in Magalia.
Currently, KZFR is not operating at less than 10% of its power capacity.
That’s another reason they need a new transmitter, which will be able to emit better sound.

Anyone who donates $5,000 dollars will have the transmitter named after them.
