The King of the West makes it out to the Silver Dollar Speedway this weekend for the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial. It's a race that holds a special meaning to Paradise sprint car driver Kyle Hirst. That's because Hirst's parents had a great relationship with Bradway.
"Dave and my dad were best friends," said Hirst. "I wish I got to meet him, but in all the stories I've heard he's been a great guy."
In fact it was Hirst's parents who got the Bradway Memorial started more than twenty years ago. Because of that Kyle would love to take the checkered flag at the race, something he has yet to do.
"My family's put so much into this race," said Hirst. "It would mean more to me than anything."
