Kool April Nites are in full swing in Redding.
This is the 26th annual event this year.
Participants have been gathering at Show and Shine events since Saturday, including today's event at the Redding Tire Factory.
The parade of cars gathered all ride in with a story, and Mark Thevenot's 1965 Oldsmobile 442 is no different.
"I had an uncle that brought a brand new one. I grew up with the car so I was always infatuated with that car, being that it was red with a four speed. I always thought that someday I'm going to own one. And I did," he said.
Raymond Pittam's 1901 Oldsmobile replica might be one of the oldest in the show.
"It was originally built back in the 1940's or 50's. We got information on it back to 1951," he said.
Many of these car lovers have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on their automobiles, and they'll be ready to go for Friday night's cruise and the big car show on Saturday.
"It's a great event. Have one of the best cruises, and the reason it is so good is the people of Redding appreciate it.," said Art Jones, who owns a 1967 GTO.
