Jun 21, 2014 5:36 PM by Linda Watkins-Bennett

The Mendocino County Museum's 3rd Annual Kinetic Carnivale is set for August 9th and 10th, in Willits.

The "steampunk" festival features kinetic handcare races, the Whimsy Circus, a Mustache and Beard competition ... where the "most interesting" hairstyles win, a steampunk-themed art show and a Grand Ball.

Visitors are encouraged to attend in vintage or steampunk costumes. There will be rides on restored rail cars, steampunk themed workshops, lectures and discussions and musum exhibits.

Admission is $10 per day for adults, $5 for youth 13-18 years, and free for kids 12 and under. Proceeds help fund the Mendocino County Museum's new exhibits, artifact conservation and educational programs. For more information visit
