Keep Chico Weird Competition to take place at El Rey Theater

The Chico News and Review is presenting the "Keep Chico Weird" Talent Show at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st, at the El Rey Theatre in Downtown Chico.

It's described as a "showcase of weirdness of all stripes" ... featuring 21 fun, creative and funky acts ... an opportunity to celebrate our community's diversity. Musicians, dancers, filmakers and others will let their freak flags fly with hopes of coming away with trophies and bragging rights.

The host is "Arts DEVO", and there will be featured performances by the Chikoko Fashion/ Art Collective and The Pagaent Dads.

Celebrity judges include Action News Now Noon News Anchorwoman Linda Watkins-Bennett, voted "Best Local Personality" by CN & R Readers in 2014, Drag Queen Mini Merna, Artist Sea monster, and the Winner of the 2014 Keep Chico Weird Talent Show ... Hula Hoop Artist Meg Amor.

The evening will include a Weird Costume Contest, and a Keep Chico Weird Art Show runs from January 29th through the 31st at the 1078 Gallery, at 820 Broadway.
