Former U.S. Treasury official Neel Kashkari is giving his campaign for governor another $1 million, bringing his personal contributions to $2 million. According to the Associated Press, that’s equal to about 40 percent of his stated personal wealth.
Kashkari reported the contribution Friday, a little more than two weeks before the June 3rd primary.
The GOP candidate has been locked in a fight with Republican state Assemblyman Tim Donnelly. Polls in April showed him trailing Donnelly.
Donnelly's campaign has brought in just $165,000 since reporting $150,000 in debts in mid-March.
