A juvenile was arrested for vandalizing Woodson Elementary School in Corning.

Corning Police responded to the school on Toomes Avenue just before 11 a.m. Sunday. Officers interviewed several juveniles about damages to the security cameras at the elementary school.

School officials said the teen broke into the campus and went on the roof, breaking security camera throughout the campus.

Woodson Elementary Principal Tiffany Dietz said its important for the school to have ways to keep the kids engaged.

"I think boredom was what played in to this," she said. "So parents keeping a close eye on their kids is a good message and students making sure that when they are bored they find good constructive things to do instead of things that end up ultimately really getting them in to trouble.

Vandalized and stolen property was found at a nearby apartment complex. The damage to the school was estimated at $10,000.
