WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican Jeb Bush is keeping his public profile high, making multiple appearances in Washington as he decides whether to enter the 2016 presidential contest.
The former Florida governor appeared Monday at fundraiser for Louisiana Senate hopeful Bill Cassidy. The Capitol Hill event comes less than a week before Cassidy faces incumbent Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu in a runoff election.
Later, Bush was expected to address a gathering of chief executives who are major political donors. An adviser said Bush would likely address his policies on education, immigration and tax policy at the invitation-only event.
Bush is the son of one former president and brother of another. Should he run, he is seen as the early favorite of establishment-minded Republicans eager to reclaim the White House in 2016.
