Chico State's J Patrick Smith capped off an absolutely amazing collegiate career by taking home his 3rd straight national championship in the decathlon Friday. Smith who had already won titles his sophomore and junior year will now go out on top as a senior as well. He finished the ten events with a total of 7,645 points, the best score in Chico State history. Also worth noting is that fellow Wildcats Theodore Elsenbaumer and John Brunk took 2nd and 6th place in the decathlon respectively, giving the 'Cats 3 of the top 6 finishers. Watch the video for more.
