JERUSALEM (AP) - The Israeli military has declared a four-hour cease-fire in some areas of the Gaza Strip, saying it's for humanitarian reasons.

The military says the cease-fire will go into effect at 3:00 p.m. (1200GMT) on Wednesday. It says the cease-fire will be limited to only certain areas in the densely populated coastal strip but did not elaborate.

Hamas militants in Gaza had no immediate reaction to the military's announcement.
